In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

Sexual harassment and assault is a serious violation. Detroit PAL is taking steps to ensure that any child who participates in a PAL program is safe and protected from any form of sexual harassment or assault.  We believe it is particularly important at this time to send a clear message to our parents and volunteers that there is absolutely no tolerance for sexual harassment or assault in PAL programs. We will provide fair and clear expectations, policies, and consequences regarding this matter.

Please, help us protect our youth. If you hear, see, or are told of any potential sexual harassment or assault to any of our participants, immediately notify proper authorities so that they may investigate on behalf of the child. Call 9-1-1.

See something, say something.

Please find our official statement below. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Police Officer Pasley or Police Officer Norwood at officerpasley@detroitpal.org or officernorwood@detroitpal.org.
