Detroit PAL is honored to be partnered with the Detroit Lions. The Detroit PAL football league, home of more than 3,000 athletes, is powered by the Detroit Lions and we are fortunate to have our Football Championships at Ford Field each year.
Darius Slay, cornerback for the Detroit Lions, is now supporting Detroit PAL as well!
We were very excited to welcome Darius to the Detroit Titans football practice on October 11th. Darius came out to the Titan’s field to surprise the A-team players. He had a chance to talk to the players, give them tips, and even participate in a few defensive drills. Once the drills were over, Darius had a surprise to share.
Darius was there to surprise the Titan’s #23, Chlik Hamilton, and his mother and Team Mom, Antrice Costner. Darius took them aside and invited them both down to Ford Field to spend Thanksgiving with him! He also decided to give Chlik his jersey.
According to Chliks coach, he is one of the most hard-working players on the team and a joy to work with. His mother does a lot of work for the Titans as well, acting as a “Team Mom” and helping at all practices and games. It was a wonderful surprise for a wonderful PAL family!
Then, on Saturday, October 15h, Darius and the Detroit Lions invited Detroit PAL football players to the training facility in Allen Park. As part of #LionsLegendsWeekend, the Lions were honoring the 1991 Lions team at the game on Sunday. Many of the players, including Barry Sanders, attended the clinic on Saturday. Barry Sanders even gave a pep talk to the PAL players! Such a cool experience for the young football players.
Thank you Darius Slay and the entire Detroit Lions organization for continuing to support Detroit PAL!
