House Basketball All Star Game

April 10, 2017

The House Basketball All Star Game took place on Saturday, March 18th at Central High School. The House Basketball League is proudly sponsored by the Detroit Pistons. The Detroit Pistons donated $300,000 to the league in 2016 to help us expand and improve the program. The House Basketball program, which had more than 1,400 participants last year, includes the boys recreational league, Little Hoopers program, and various basketball camps.

The event was packed full of exciting games and skills competitions, with nearly 180 players participating throughout the day in five different leagues.

KT2_7627At half time of each game, there was a skills competition. This year the challenge was a dribbling and shooting competition! All of the competitors worked hard to complete the task and did a great job. At the end of the skills contest, the winner was presented with a trophy for their performance. Detroit PAL then proudly presented certificates and medals to the All-Academic Team! We are always excited to honor our players who are working hard in the classroom, as well as on the court.

The All Star Games were very exciting! Regardless of who wasKT2_7561 winning each game, all of the players tried hard, danced along to the music, cheer each other on, and had a great time. The East side teams were the big winner throughout the day, but everyone played great! To see pictures from the House Basketball All Star Game, click here.
