On Tuesday, October 18th, 100 Detroit PAL basketball players had the opportunity to go to The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Detroit Pistons had buses waiting at PAL to take the kids to Auburn hills for a fun night of basketball!
The Detroit Pistons are committed to an increased awareness and involvement in youth basketball, through community clinics, a kids-focused newsletter and Pistons Academy camps.
The participants were greeted by Pistons staff and given a Jr. Pistons t-shirt to wear for the evening. After getting changed, the kids broke into two groups.
One group started the evening with a tour of The Palace. They got to go around the entire arena, including the home and away locker rooms! The second group started on the basketball court with a clinic. They were joined by NBA legends, Earl Cureton and John Long. The legends, along with some coaches, had the kids warm up, go through some drills, and play basketball games.
It was a great opportunity for PAL basketball players to learn from the best and play on the same court as many of their favorite basketball stars! Thank you to the Detroit Pistons for choosing Detroit PAL to invite to this amazing event. Our Jr. Pistons had a blast!
