PAL Baseball Players act as ‘Starting Nine’ at Game

October 3, 2016

On Saturday, September 24th the Detroit Tigers took on the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park. This game was very special for nine lucky Detroit PAL baseball players.

Thanks to the generosity of Comerica Bank, these nine young men had the opportunity to be the “Starting Nine” before the game began. They lined up on the field and each were given the jersey of the starting nine Tigers players that game! The boys held up the jerseys of Kinsler, Maybin, Cabrera, Martinez, Upton, McCann, Romine, Iglesias, and Norris in front of the crowd and on the big screen! They were joined by Tigers’ mascot, Paws, and representatives from Comerica Bank.

Comerica Bank graciously invited the PAL players to the game during the Detroit Tigers’ Fan Appreciation Week.  In addition to being so kind to nine of our young athletes, Comerica Bank also presented PAL with a check for $25,000 to help restore Calcara Park.

Thank you so much Comerica Bank for helping Detroit PAL’s Diamond Sports program!
