Spring Soccer Comes to an End

June 27, 2017

Spring Soccer is officially over at Detroit PAL!

Both the spring Recreation Soccer season and spring School Soccer season came to an end on Saturday, June 17 at Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit. Hundreds of kids took the field on Saturday for their final games this spring. The weather was great and all of the kids seemed to be having a great time!

Did you miss out on all of fun this spring? Soccer will return to Detroit PAL this fall! The Recreation Soccer program (ages 5-14) gets started in early September! Shinguards are mandatory and cleats are optional. Learn more about the Recreation Soccer program here.

IMG_7384School Soccer will return in the fall as well! Our School Soccer program consists of two components: Soccer for Success and the GOAL Detroit Soccer League. Soccer for Success is a free soccer-based after-school program developed by the U.S. Soccer Foundation that uses soccer as a tool to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles for children. We have combined our Soccer for Success program with Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s GOAL Detroit Soccer League. GOAL Detroit is an elementary school soccer program coordinated through Detroit PAL to provide children the resources to build character, fitness and exercise, enjoy the outdoors, learn teamwork and to have fun.
