The First Tee DRIVE Program

In partnership with The First Tee Drive Program, a non-profit youth development organization with the mission to provide educational programs, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf, Detroit PAL offers an easy to deliver, all-inclusive program for boys and girls ages 5- 8. The program’s curriculum will include professional development training. The program will run from June 21st – August 11th on every Tuesday and Thursday  from 11 am to 12 pm at Rough Park Golf Course, 11701 Burt Rd, Detroit. Registration is $55 or $40 with a medicaid card. Free lunch will be provided every day after the session has ended. Participants will also receive a free Detroit PAL T-Shirt. In Detroit PAL’s First Tee Drive Program, children will learn the fundamentals of golf through an activity plan that will focus on:

  • Putting with Respect
  • Chipping with Courtesy
  • Pitching with Responsibility
  • Swinging with Honesty
  • Putting with Sportsmanship
  • Chipping with Confidence
  • Pitching with Judgment
  • Swinging with Perseverance
  • Putting with Integrity
  • Chipping with Respect
  • Pitching with Honesty
  • Swinging with Judgment
  • Stroke Play with Courtesy
  • Match Play with Responsibility
  • Scramble with Confidence
  • Alternate Shot with Perseverance
  • Best Ball with Sportsmanship
  • Extreme Golf with Integrity
