Marcus Green

Marcus Green played football for the Eastside Giants from 1994-2001. During his time with Detroit PAL, his love of sports grew. However, his mentors taught him to focus on life outside of sports as well. Instead of just dreaming of becoming a professional athlete one day, Marcus went on to college and was able to appreciate the opportunities his education would bring.

Marcus attended Ubens-chili-bowl-copyniversity Liggett in Grosse Pointe. After graduation, he went on to play football at Penn State University. His collegiate athletic career didn’t get in the way of his education. He graduated with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology.

“I made the most of every opportunity and made sure I saved all of my work for my portfolio/reel and was diligent in looking for entry level opportunities relevant to my field and that would put me on the path to what I ultimately wanted to do,” he said.

His hard work paid off when he was able to secure a Production Assistant position with ESPN in Connecticut. He began working on features for the show Outside the Lines. Marcus then earned the opportunity to work in New York as a Proimg_0538duction Associate at World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer (now David Muir). Marcus was able to earn another promotion to Associate Producer during his time there. He currently works in Chicago as a Producer for Campus Insiders.

Marcus Green has worked hard and paved his own path in the career-world. His dedication to his education and his perseverance to his craft has led him to great jobs all around the country. It’s amazing the work you can accomplish with hard work, dedication, and a good foundation of positive support.

“Participating in PAL has impacted my life in so many special ways. I forged relationships with t11a67b-1-2eammates and coaches I still speak to today,” Marcus stated, “Being a part of the organization as a youth put me on the path to focus on becoming a distinguished man of character, integrity and dignity and to make a positive impact on the world around where, wherever I am.”

What a great example of how hard work can lead to great things. Keep up the great work, Marcus!
