Matthew Williams is a proud alumnus of Detroit PAL. He was a player with the Rosedale Grandmont Youth Baseball League during his childhood, and later became a volunteer for that league. Matthew has also volunteered with Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (R.B.I.), which is sponsored by Major League Baseball. He is a strong supporter of Detroit, Detroit PAL, and his alma mater, Wayne State University.
Matthew graduated from the Wayne State University School of Business Administration in 2009. After graduation, he began his career at Cbeyond Communications. However, he soon decided he wanted to be in a more academic environment. Matthew then joined ITT Technical Institute as an educational advisor, and has enjoyed a successful career there.
As a student, Matthew was a member of the Wayne State University baseball team for four years and became team captain in his senior year. He also volunteered his time to the Wayne State baseball program as an assistant coach for the 2012 season. Matthew helped to develop the Metro Detroit Baseball Club, a program for youth now in its fourth year.
He earned his MBA from Wayne State University and now works at Wayne State in their Development Department. Matthew stays busy as the head baseball coach for Renaissance High School and Henry Ford Community College.
