Bing Youth Institute & Detroit PAL
January is National Mentoring Month and in this story created by Aaron Dawson of Passion MGMT, you see Detroit PAL Director of Athletic Operations, David Greenwood become a mentor to a young man, named Teyon.
“It’s important to highlight that 9 million young people who are without a mentor outside their family to walk alongside them through their journey.” – MENTOR
We are thankful for NBA Legend and former Detroit Mayor and Founder of Bing Youth Institute, Dave Bing. You have changed lives and been a mentor to so many. It is by your leadership and example that we must take these steps into mentorship. #BingoMentor
At Detroit PAL, we see mentorship as a stepping stone for the youth. Becoming a coach, volunteer and mentor – requires one to take our Detroit PAL Impact Training. Level 1 Impact Training covers being a “Positive Coach.” Level 2 we teach on being a “Role Model.” Lastly, Level 3, we highlight the importance of being a “Mentor.” Detroit PAL has trained over 12,947 volunteer and mentors. As we tell your story, this National #MentoringMonth you can make a real difference in a young person’s life and help them succeed to do GREAT things.
