Detroit PAL Hosts First Ever Football Games at Stadium
On Sunday, September 16th players, coaches and parents were a part of history as the very first football games were played here at The Corner Ballpark presented by Adient. The Willie Horton Field of Dreams was filled with PAL football players. The Northwest Cougars and the S.A.Y. Detroit PLAY Warriors had the opportunity to represent PAL football as the first two teams to play an official game on the new field.
The Willie Horton Field of Dreams presented by Meijer was lined and marked for Sunday’s football games and family and friends made sure to come out, so they too could be a part of history. A great crowd was on deck and filled the bleachers to watch the Warriors and Cougars take the field.
The first game to kick off the eventful day was the flag football division, followed by the D division, C division, B division, and to cap it off, the A division. The Cougars swept the Warriors in each division to come out victorious on the day. Detroit PAL put on a successful event in which everyone had a wonderful time at The Corner Ballpark presented by Adient. To be able to host multiple sports at your own facility is a great deal, especially in the community.
We look forward to hosting more football games this season here at The Corner Ballpark presented by Adient and we want to thank everyone for coming out and attending the first ever football game at our new facility! We also want to thank all the PAL staff, alumni and supporters who made this all possible.
