This year Detroit PAL is celebrating its 55th anniversary. PAL offers sports and enrichment programs to over 9,000 Detroit area youth annually. We create safe spaces for children to play and learn so they are able to develop the self-confidence they need to go far in life. Over the years, an estimated 350,000 participants have been served through PAL’s programming. Our alumni have gone on to positively impact our city, state, and country – both on and off of the field. It takes teamwork to create this magnitude of impact. PAL’s success is the result of dedicated partners, volunteers, parents, coaches, staff, and donors who are committed to empowering our youth. About PAL
Our Mission: In partnership with the Detroit Police Department and community volunteers, Detroit PAL is helping youth find their greatness through athletic, academic, and leadership development programs.
Our Approach:
- Detroit PAL is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization based in Detroit, Michigan, that focuses on providing positive and structured activities for youth in the community.
- Founded in 1969 in partnership with the Detroit Police Department, PAL continues to give children an opportunity to learn and develop the confidence and motivation to go far in life.
- With year-round programs having served more than 350,000 youth, Detroit PAL helps teach the skills needed to succeed both on and off the playing field through athletic, enrichment and community policing programs.
- As our organization heads into the future, we cherish our responsibility to serve youth as they find their GREATNESS for many years to come.
